2022 BECE updates for students: Tips for examination success
Final year Junior High School students who would be registered for the 2022 BECE should use the timetable above to plan their personal timetables ahead of school reopening.
Teachers and schools are further advised to prepare their candidates for the BECE with internal and external mocks to help students prepare adequately for the BECE.
Teachers of the various subjects are further advised to help their students to improve their spelling of keywords under the various topics.
This will improve the quality of answers provided by students. Teachers should further teach their students how questions are answered and give learners sample questions to answer by following the procedures they have taught their learners.
It is important that teachers do not rush students through the syllabus, and also go through mock papers with students with the aim of helping students to master how to attempt questions they failed to answer.
Topics that students were not able to deal with in the examination should be revisited using new approaches to teach the topic to help reinforce the knowledge of students.
Parents are also advised to take a keen interest in the preparation of their wards for the 2022 BECE. This must start early enough.
Teachers, parents, and heads must continue to motivate their learners and keep advising them. Teaching these learners how to study, how to answer questions and related issues will help instill in them important examination skills.
Students often become uncontrollable when they get to JHS3 and are registered for the BECE. It is important that Junior High School final year students remain humble and follow the advice of their teachers and parents so that their preparation toward the BECE is devoid of troubles at school and at home.
We further challenge students to take their preparation for the 2022 BECE seriously. Do not joke with it, follow advice. Ask relevant questions when you do not understand a lesson, and seek help from your teachers and colleagues who are good in the various subjects. Help your friends who are struggling as well by explaining topics and lessons to them. The more you do this, the better you also understand the lesson and retain the knowledge acquired.

Lastly, we advise students and parents to choose schools based on the academic strength of their wards during the school selection phase of the BECE registration. Note that it is not compulsory to choose a school from category A. If you do not have the academic strength to make an aggregate between 6 and 10, do not worry yourself by chasing over category A schools.
