A massive tree has been brought down. As a result of the passing of legendary highlife musician Kwadwo Akwaboah Snr., the music business is in a state of mourning. After a protracted bout with illness, it was announced that he passed away in the Komfo Anokye Teaching Hospital in the early hours of Tuesday, May 16th. The passing of Akwaboah Snr was revealed to the public by his son in an Instagram post, which has caused many people in Ghana to shed tears.

He posted a picture of his late father online with the poignant comment, “RIP daddy.” After what Akwaboah Snr described as a spiritual assault in Holland, which occurred while he was there, he suffered physical impairments that eventually led to his death.

He explained, “I had been playing with a band the night before, and when I woke up the next day, I noticed that there was a blood spot on my right eye.” “Consequently, I went to see a physician, and he prescribed me some eye drops to use. However, despite several attempts, it was ultimately unsuccessful. In light of this, he moved to Ghana in an attempt to seek help from herbalists and spiritual men in Ghana; nonetheless, the situation continued to worsen until it ultimately led to his untimely passing.

His most recent musical endeavor took place two years ago, and it was a collaborative effort with his son, Akwaboah, in which they recorded a remix of his hit song from the 1990s titled Awerekyekyere – Father & Son. He was widely regarded as one of the most accomplished keyboardists the nation has ever produced.

He took over for his deceased father, Master Kwabena Akwaboah, who was also known as a highlife guru, and his son, also named Akwaboah, followed in his footsteps after him.
