Speaking ahead of an international friendly against Wales, Ayew highlighted the squad’s commitment and the positive influence of new manager Carlos Queiroz. The former Swansea City and Leicester City forward believes the team is developing effectively for the 2026 FIFA World Cup.

Ayew praised Queiroz’s ideas, stating that the players have embraced them and are focused on implementation. He noted that despite recent losses, the team’s performances have shown promise, citing the Germany game as an encouraging example. Ayew emphasized the importance of patience and positivity among the squad, the team, and the manager.

Regarding his own future, Ayew stated that his immediate focus is on the national team and the World Cup. He mentioned that decisions about his club career would be made later with his family and representatives. He also acknowledged the strong performance of Antoine Semenyo in the Premier League with Bournemouth, expressing pride in his achievements and hoping he continues to perform for Ghana.

The captain expressed enthusiasm for the upcoming matches, particularly the second group game against England, anticipating a lot of enjoyment. He reiterated the team’s goal to represent Africa and Ghana effectively, confident that their commitment and the manager’s strategies will lead to surprising results at the tournament.
