Manchester United’s Midfield Pursuit

Manchester United has made an inquiry regarding Real Madrid and France midfielder Aurelien Tchouameni. The club is looking to bolster its midfield options ahead of the upcoming Premier League season. Reports indicate that Real Madrid is open to selling the 26-year-old defensive midfielder to Manchester United.

This interest in Tchouameni comes as Michael Carrick’s side has already secured two midfield signings: Andrey Santos from Chelsea and Youri Tielemans from Aston Villa. Despite these additions, Manchester United is reportedly considering a third midfield acquisition.

Tchouameni is currently under contract with Real Madrid until 2028, though there are suggestions of a new contract extending to 2031, which Real Madrid has not yet announced. Manchester United had previously shortlisted Tchouameni as a target, aligning with their preferred age range for new signings.

Additional Midfield Targets and Transfer Rumours

Beyond Tchouameni, Manchester United is also considering other midfielders. Manu Kone, a 25-year-old France midfielder from AS Roma, and Carlos Baleba, a 22-year-old Cameroon international from Brighton, are among the players being evaluated. Tyler Adams, a 27-year-old United States midfielder from Bournemouth, is another option for Carrick’s team.

In other transfer news, Chelsea is reportedly accelerating its pursuit of Bournemouth midfielder Alex Scott. Chelsea had a bid for Scott rejected by Bournemouth. Scott is said to be keen on a move to Chelsea, despite Bournemouth’s insistence that the 22-year-old is not for sale and their efforts to secure him on a new contract.

Arsenal and Manchester City are among the clubs interested in Ivory Coast winger Yan Diomande from RB Leipzig. Meanwhile, Daizen Maeda, a 28-year-old Celtic and Japan striker, is scheduled for a medical on Friday to finalize a move to Ipswich Town.

Defensive and Attacking Interests

Arsenal is also looking to strengthen its defense, with former Manchester City defender John Stones, 32, and Aston Villa’s Ezri Konsa, 28, identified as targets. This interest follows an injury to France defender William Saliba, 25.

Chelsea is reportedly the favourite to sign 18-year-old Bosnia-Herzegovina attacking midfielder Kerim Alajbegovic from Bayer Leverkusen. Additionally, Chelsea has agreed a deal to sign 15-year-old American winger Benji Flowers from Major League Soccer side FC Dallas, with the transfer set to occur when he turns 18.

Manchester United has also made an enquiry for Crystal Palace winger Ismaila Sarr, according to reports. The Senegal international is admired at Old Trafford as the club assesses options to strengthen its wide attacking positions. Sarr is not considered Manchester United’s priority target but remains on their shortlist.

Leeds United’s English winger Jack Harrison, 29, is nearing a move to MLS side New England Revolution. Everton is reportedly interested in Celtic’s Alistair Johnston, 27, who impressed for Canada at the World Cup.

Aston Villa is interested in signing 25-year-old Everton and England midfielder James Garner this summer. Manchester City boss Enzo Maresca remains keen on signing Argentina midfielder Enzo Fernandez, 25, and France full-back Malo Gusto, 23, from his former club Chelsea.

Liverpool and England Under-20 defender Amara Nallo, 19, is set to join Finnish club HJK Helsinki on a season-long loan.
