Bayern Munich targets Saibari

Bayern Munich has initiated discussions regarding a potential transfer for PSV Eindhoven midfielder Ismael Saibari. This development follows a period where Bayern’s pursuit of Anthony Gordon from Newcastle United reportedly stalled. Fabrizio Romano indicates that the German champions have opened talks with Saibari’s representatives as they aim to bolster their attacking options for the upcoming season.

Saibari, who was named the Eredivisie Player of the Season, is reportedly moving closer to joining Bayern Munich. Reports from both the Netherlands and Germany suggest significant progress in this potential move. The Moroccan international recently played a key role in Morocco‘s 4-0 victory over Madagascar in a World Cup tune-up match.

According to Fabrizio Romano, Saibari has verbally agreed to personal terms with Bayern Munich and has also spoken with head coach Vincent Kompany. While personal terms are reportedly settled, an agreement on the transfer fee between Bayern Munich and PSV Eindhoven is still pending. The exact figures for Bayern’s proposal or PSV’s asking price have not yet been disclosed.

Player profile and club interest

Bayern Munich’s interest in Saibari stems from their desire for increased creativity and flexibility in their midfield and attack. Saibari, at 25 years old, can operate effectively as an attacking midfielder, central midfielder, or a wide player. His technical skills, physical strength, and ability to make decisive runs into the box have reportedly impressed Bayern officials.

The club is expected to evaluate PSV’s financial demands before making a formal offer. Saibari is reportedly open to the move, viewing the opportunity to play in the Bundesliga and compete for one of Europe’s major clubs as an attractive career progression. However, PSV is likely to demand a substantial fee, considering him a key player, especially after his notable season.

Born in Terrassa, Spain, in January 2001, Saibari developed through various youth academies in Belgium before joining PSV in 2020. He advanced from the U-21 squad to become a regular in the senior team, establishing himself as a crucial attacking midfielder. On the international stage, Saibari represents Morocco and is considered one of the country’s promising midfielders ahead of the 2026 FIFA World Cup.

During his breakthrough season, Saibari scored 15 goals and provided 8 assists in 27 matches, directly contributing to 23 goals. These statistics made him the league’s most productive midfielder and a central figure in PSV’s attack, showcasing a combination of strength, close control, and match-deciding ability from midfield.

Other transfer market activities

In other transfer news, Real Madrid is reportedly close to agreeing personal terms with Inter right-back Denzel Dumfries, who is said to be available for less than €25 million. Additionally, Ibrahima Konate is reportedly set to join Real Madrid after his departure from Liverpool this summer, with a verbal agreement on terms. However, this move might be contingent on Florentino Perez‘s re-election.

Liverpool is also re-evaluating its summer plans following the departures of Mohamed Salah, Andy Robertson, Ibrahima Konate, and Arne Slot. The club is reportedly considering moves for players such as Yan Diomande and Denzel Dumfries. Meanwhile, AC Milan star Rafael Leao has expressed a desire to leave the Italian club this summer, attracting interest from several Premier League clubs, including Manchester United, Arsenal, Tottenham, and Liverpool.

Manchester United centre-back Harry Maguire is being linked with a move to Serie A giants Inter Milan this summer. In Spain, Swedish winger Roony Bardghji is reportedly nearing an exit from Barcelona, with Ajax emerging as favourites to sign the 20-year-old. Manchester City striker Omar Marmoush could also be heading for a summer exit as the club looks to evolve.
