Mudryk’s loan prospects

Chelsea winger Mykhailo Mudryk is reportedly available for a loan move, with Coventry City identified as one of three Premier League clubs showing interest. This development follows his return to competitive football. Chelsea is open to loan offers for the 25-year-old Ukraine international.

Strasbourg is also a potential destination for Mudryk, as Chelsea can send one more player on loan to their sister club. This aligns with FIFA rules, which permit a maximum of three players to be loaned to a specific club at any given time. Mudryk recently made cameo appearances in Chelsea’s final three pre-season tour matches.

The FA confirmed late last month that Mudryk was cleared to return to Chelsea after disciplinary proceedings were resolved. He had not played a competitive game since November 2024 after testing positive for meldonium. However, a change by the World Anti-Doping Agency (WADA) to scientific reporting standards for meldonium analysis means that under current rules, such a suspension would not occur.

Chelsea manager Xabi Alonso stated last week that a decision on Mudryk’s future was still pending. Alonso described Mudryk as a “special player” in a “special case” requiring sensitive handling. New signing Morgan Rogers is currently the primary left-wing option for Chelsea, with Jamie Gittens and Geovany Quenda also impressing on the left during pre-season.

After his suspension was lifted, Mykhailo Mudryk arrived at Chelsea’s training camp in Hong Kong. Reports indicate a change in his demeanor, with the player appearing more open and engaging with club staff. He played in a friendly match against Juventus, marking his first appearance for Chelsea in 21 months.

Transfer market movements

In other transfer news, Barcelona is reportedly pursuing Manchester City and Spain midfielder Rodri. The Spanish club is hopeful of securing his signature and is said to be lodging a second bid for the 30-year-old.

Inter Milan is in discussions with Tottenham regarding a deal for England right-back Djed Spence. The 26-year-old is reportedly keen on a move to the Serie A champions. Meanwhile, Manchester United is prioritizing Newcastle left-back Lewis Hall, with the 21-year-old England international reportedly favouring a move to Old Trafford.

Manchester United is also considering an opening bid for Club Brugge left-back Joaquin Seys. Additionally, Manchester United made a move to sign Real Madrid and Brazil forward Endrick on loan, but manager Jose Mourinho intends to keep the 20-year-old at the Spanish side beyond the summer.

Chelsea and Manchester United have been presented with an opportunity to sign England midfielder Myles Lewis-Skelly. Arsenal may consider selling the 19-year-old following the arrival of Brazil international Bruno Guimaraes, 28, from Newcastle.

Napoli is exploring a deal for Brazil striker Gabriel Jesus. Arsenal would reportedly only consider selling the 29-year-old if offers meet their valuation. Iliman Ndiaye, the 26-year-old Everton and Senegal winger, has reportedly declined an offer to move to Saudi Pro League side Al-Hilal, indicating a desire to remain in the Premier League.

Everton is actively seeking to sign a right-back within the next seven to ten days. Targets include Celtic and Canada’s Alistair Johnston, 27, West Ham and DR Congo’s Aaron Wan-Bissaka, 28, and Genoa’s 22-year-old Englishman Brooke Norton-Cuffy. Furthermore, Crystal Palace’s English centre-back Mofe Jemide, 19, is nearing a move to Alverca in Portugal’s top division.
