“Any team in the Premier League can hurt you [and] you need to be very aware, very ready that the danger can come from any situation. If you are soft or if you are not prepared, you will get punished and we have been punished that way,” Alonso added, highlighting the need for constant vigilance.
Chavarria Echoes Defensive Concerns After Hull City Draw
Defender Pep Chavarria also acknowledged the need for defensive improvement following Chelsea’s 2-2 draw against Hull City. Despite Morgan Rogers giving Chelsea an early lead, Hull City scored two goals in six minutes, forcing the Blues to chase the game. João Pedro’s third Premier League goal of the season eventually brought Chelsea level, resulting in a draw.
Chavarria, who made his fourth Premier League appearance after joining from Rayo Vallecano this summer, noted that Hull City is a strong team. He felt that after Chelsea scored their first goal, they controlled the game, but Hull City performed well after equalizing.
