Manchester City Pursue Bouaddi Amid Midfield Changes
Manchester City are reportedly in ongoing discussions with Lille for the transfer of midfielder Ayyoub Bouaddi. Personal terms have been established with the 18-year-old Moroccan international as both clubs work towards a final agreement. Lille values Bouaddi at 100m euros (£85m).
The potential arrival of Bouaddi could facilitate the departure of Rodri, with Barcelona reportedly keen on signing the 30-year-old Spanish midfielder. Manchester City, however, does not consider talks with Barcelona for Rodri to be active following an initial offer that was deemed insufficient. Barcelona is said to be considering a revised offer for Rodri, who has one year remaining on his current contract.
New Manchester City manager Enzo Maresca reportedly intends to integrate Bouaddi into the first-team squad immediately. City is also interested in other midfielders, including Chelsea’s Enzo Fernandez, who has a reported valuation of £120m. Fernandez previously worked with Maresca at Chelsea.
Transfer Activities Across European Clubs
Beyond Manchester City’s midfield adjustments, several other clubs are active in the transfer market. Real Madrid is reportedly interested in signing Arsenal’s 25-year-old Spanish midfielder Martin Zubimendi. Real Madrid is also said to maintain interest in Inter Milan and Italy defender Alessandro Bastoni, as well as Crystal Palace and England midfielder Adam Wharton, with intentions to make additional summer signings.
In other developments, Arsenal and Brazil forward Gabriel Jesus, 29, is reportedly open to a move to Napoli this summer. Additionally, Italian side AS Roma has held initial talks with representatives of Arsenal and Brazil winger Gabriel Martinelli, 25, regarding a potential transfer.
Barcelona and Tottenham have both reportedly made enquiries to Bayern Munich concerning England forward Harry Kane, 33, for a summer transfer. Meanwhile, Bradley Barcola, 23, has reportedly indicated a preference for Liverpool, despite a late approach from Arsenal for the Paris St-Germain and France forward, who is valued at approximately £130m.
Manchester United is reportedly considering a move for RB Leipzig and Germany defender David Raum, 28, after failing to secure England left-back Lewis Hall, 21, from Newcastle. Tottenham and England defender Djed Spence, 26, is also reportedly back on the agenda for Inter Milan.
Marseille and Denmark midfielder Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg, 31, has reportedly declined an offer to join Newcastle. West Ham is reportedly in talks with Arsenal to sign English winger Reiss Nelson, 26, who spent the last two seasons on loan at Brentford and Fulham.
Veteran striker Jamie Vardy could make a return to English football, with Championship side West Ham reportedly considering a move for the 39-year-old former Leicester City and England player, who is currently a free agent. Napoli has also reopened discussions with Chelsea to finalize a deal for French centre-back Benoit Badiashile, 25.
Manchester City is also aware of interest from Nottingham Forest in their Netherlands midfielder Tijjani Reijnders, 28, who joined from AC Milan last summer for £46m. Sunderland’s DR Congo defender Arthur Masuaku, 32, is finalizing a move to Konyaspor.

Atletico Madrid has reportedly made a bid of 35m euro (£30m) for Lille’s 21-year-old Belgium forward Matias Fernandez-Pardo, who is also attracting interest from Arsenal and Liverpool. Premier League newcomers Hull City have had a bid rejected for Swansea City forward Zan Vipotnik, the 24-year-old Slovenia international.
Rodri is scheduled to report back to Manchester City on Friday following his post-World Cup break. The Spain captain has one year left on his deal, and City would like him to renew.
