2023 School Placement: Reasons why many 2022 BECE graduates will miss 1st and 2nd Choices have been explained in this educative article Schools choice you will be placed in based on your 2023 BECE aggregate

The 2023 School Placement is expected to be released by mid-February but ahead of that, you can use your 2022 BECE aggregate to tell the school choice you are more likely to be placed in.

Assuming you made school choices as follows.

CHOICE 1: Category A School

CHOICE 2: Category B School

CHOICE 3: Category B School

CHOICE 4: Category C School

CHOICE 5: Category C School

CHOICE 6: Category D School

Then you can match the placement predictions below. What it means is that, if your first choice is a category A school, and you obtained an aggregate of between 06 and 10, then the chance that you will be placed in a Category A School is high.

However, if your grade is not in the aggregate of 06 and 10, then you move to the next predicted school placement which corresponds with your aggregate obtained.

Use the range below to find the school choice you are likely to get.

Aggregate 06 to 10 – First Choice Schools Placement

Aggregate 11 to 19 – Second Choice Schools Placement

Aggregate 20 to 29 – Third and Fourth Choice Schools Placement

Aggregate 30 to 35 – Fifth Choice Schools Placement

Aggregate 36 or More – Self Placement

Now for students whose First choice is from Category B, the story will be more encouraging and less stressful.

Find the range where your aggregate falls from the prediction below to know which choice you are likely to get.

Aggregate 06 to 15 – First Choice Schools Placement

Aggregate 16 to 22 – Second Choice Schools Placement

Aggregate 23 to 27 – Third and Fourth Choice Schools Placement

Aggregate 28 to 33 – Fifth Choice Schools Placement

Aggregate 34 or More – Self Placement

Apart from the above, note that the raw school will be used to determine who is placed ahead of the other. The number of placements the school you are competing for can also determine whether you will be placed. Students who choose to boarding as their accommodation choice have more competition than those who choose day schools.

Finally, students who used the cluster option during the school selection may be placed in similar schools in the same category and not the exact school they chose.

Now that you have a fair idea of the school choice you will be placed in based on your 2023 BECE aggregate, keep praying for the best.
