Vote of censure: NPP, Nana Addo Choose Ken Ofori-Atta over Ghanaians

Ghanaians have been short-changed by the government and the New Patriotic Party as they have chosen to opt for the retention of Minister of Finance, Ken Ofori-Atta over the call by the masses for the Finance Minister to be sacked if he will not resign.

The call for the President to sack the Finance Minister or for the Finance Minister to gracefully resign, but this call has not been achieved and the minority and the majority caucus have reached a consensus to engage in a vote of censure.

To achieve this unpopular success, the NPP as a party has directed all its Members of Parliament not to take part in the planned move to vote in censure against Finance Minister, Ken Ofori-Atta.

Thursday 10th, November 2022 is expected to be a historic day in the parliament of Ghana if the move to axe the finance minister from Parliament succeeds.

The party has ordered the Majority Caucus in parliament to abstain from the vote of censure.

The leadership of the ruling party in a press release stated that following broader consultations and engagements with stakeholders, it has been resolved that all members of parliament belonging to the majority caucus must abstain from the scheduled vote of censure being sought by the Majority caucus.

If the order is obeyed by the Majority Caucus in parliament, the ordinary Ghanaian will continue to suffer.
