A meeting of the minority caucus in parliament is scheduled for today, January 26, 2023. The meeting will discuss the leadership changes that the National Democratic Congress (NDC) have announced.

It is believed that 77 MPs endorsed the party’s choice of Dr Cassiel Ato Forson as its new leader.

The Deputy Minority Leader position has been filled by Emmanuel Armah-Kofi Buah, who previously served as Ketu North MP James Klutse Avedzi.

According to Richard Kwami Sefe, “The meeting has been requested by the departing leadership. Those who have recently been appointed, in my opinion, will take part in the conversation.”

He further stated that, “If we meet today, we can talk about the problems in detail without being emotional or making assumptions”

“We’ll probably vote on it to decide how we’ll handle this situation.”

“Because if caution is not taken, people who are arriving might not be at peace, and those who are already there might not be as well if the party says no, causing us to become quite divided”, said the Member of Parliament for Anlo.
