Disregard an order by the supreme court: Lawyers of Anas

Lawyers of the undercover journalist Anas Amereyaw Anas have respond to Supreme Court ruling which has quashed a high court ruling and ordered Anas to appear in court to face form GFA President Kwasi Nyantakyi and another without his mask.

In their press release relating to the case Republic v. Kwasi Nyantekyi and Another, the Cromwell Gray LLP law firm, lawyers of the celebrated undercover investigative journalist, Anas Aremeyaw Anas indicated that our attention has been drawn to developments in the on going criminal trail of the former head of Ghana Football Association, Kwesi Nyantakyi who is standing trial for corruption and fraud over the Number12 investigative report aired in 2018.

The said documentary uncovered football related corruption in Ghana and other African countries.

The legal processes were initiated after Anas petitioned the Attorney General.

One of the start witness, Ahmed Suale, one of the investigative journalists was murdered in Madina, weeks before his testimony could be taken.

However, Anas agreed to step in for Ahmed Suale, on condition that he will be allowed to do so in camera or in chambers.

Cromwell Gray LLP law firm, lawyers of the celebrated undercover investigative journalist has called on the general public to disregard an order by the supreme court or any information suggesting the supreme court is demanding Anas to appear in court without his trademark face beads.

It added that, Anas may choose to be a witness as a prosecution or not. Anas and his Tiger Eye team will not continue to wear his iconic face beads as a symbol of impartial anonymity in investigative journalism and to highlight the extreme risk in that line of duty.
